Presenting: Las Condes
Las Condes is part of Santiago and was declared as new community of Santiago on 26th of August in 1901. it kept its rural character Until 1935
with many cultivating their territory. The urbanisation of the sector started in the 1920th with access to public and private electricity providers
and gas. Along came elegant houses, as many liked the new ambience, where they formed a new way of life.
The urban centres were concentrated around the Sports Clubs, like “Club de Golf”, “Stade Français”, “Estadio Español”, “Estadio Palestino”. With
their public and private parks, they created a green network in the community. In the 1950s various international high schools settled in the area,
which promoted expansion of the sector. By then Las Condes was part of the picture of Santiago. Nowadays, Las Condes is a totally urbanized
community which offers everything to their citizens – economy of prosperity and services.
Nowadays Las Condes is famous for its big banking district, also known as Sanhatten, as well as for many commercial areas. Several malls, such
as Parque Arauco, provide its citizens with all they need, from Chile as well as stores from abroad.
Escuela Militar is located in Las Condes as well as most of the foreign embassies. Furthermore the worlds most luxurious hotel chains, as Ritz
Carlton, Hyatt and Mariott are placed in Las Condes.
It is also one of the safest part of Santiago due to the low crime rates.
